First constructed in 2009 on the rooftop of Peckham’s multistory carpark, Frank’s Cafe has opened every summer since. The timber structure is lashed to the rooftop with twelve 50m-long ratchet straps, which support the red canopy. Built using reclaimed scaffolding boards and a roof constructed from lorry-siding, the project has become an icon for the area.
